Heart of the home
The kitchen used to be a place of pure utility, hidden from view, with a sole function – food preparation. Long considered a second class citizen in the pecking order of rooms, the North American kitchen is finally taking its rightful place as the heart of the home.Tastefully done a kitchen remodel can yield up to 70% return on investment. The return is far greater to those who are not planning on selling; but are more focused on enjoying the investment they have in their home.
Meaning “In the now” a contemporary kitchen features clean lines and streamlined finishes. The neutral tones of whites, greys and stainless steel that are popular within this style allow designers to be bold with accent pieces and colours.
As the name implies, a transitional kitchen is indeed in a state of transition. Based on the tried and true elements from the past, yet infused with fresh elements that together take on a uniqueness that defies a singular classification due to the fusion of styles
A catch-all term that can encompass many styles, Country, English and French just to name a few. A traditional kitchen will immerse you in a feeling of the outdoors and will feature a palette of muted, pastel tones. This style will also lean towards greater detail and ornamentation than that of other styles.

Live Edge WOOD

The world’s greatest designer – Mother Nature.

Live edge is a technique where the natural edge of the wood is incorporated into the design. The natural origins of each piece of wood can be seen in the shape and texture, and often the surface of the tree is still visible. A live edge is a soft, unstructured look that embraces the irregularities in the surface of the wood, giving each piece its own character and making it truly unique.

Consumers have more choices for a new counter top than ever before. From a vast array of striking colours and designs, in natural and synthetic materials that will compliment any kitchen design. From the subtle elegance of a quartz counter top to the dramatic punch of the perfect piece of granite, or perhaps you are looking for the affordable and versatile good looks of the latest laminate designs – we can get it all! Our designers will help you choose the best quartz, granite, solid surface, concrete, laminate, wood, butcher block, marble or soap stone surface. The Salt & Pepper team will help make sure you make the perfect choice for your new kitchen design, budget and lifestyle.

With the look of natural stone, minus the maintenance.

Made from one of the hardest minerals on earth, quartz countertops are arguably the most durable option for kitchens. They’re also some of the most eye-catching.Their primary ingredient is ground quartz (about 93-95 percent), combined with polyester resins to bind it and pigments to give it color. For some designs, small amounts of recycled glass or metallic flecks are added to the mix. The resins also help make these counters stain and scratch resistant—and nonporous, so they never need to be sealed. Compare that with granite, the reigning king of high-end countertops, which typically requires a new protective top coat at least once a year.

Variation in the natural stone (quartz) color, pattern, size, shape and shade are inherent and unique characteristics to be expected with this product. This does not affect the product performance in any manner.
